Agent Builder + Test in Console creates Sessions but Agent Insights always empty

Hello,

I’m evaluating LiveKit Agent Builder as a proof of concept.

According to the documentation, a Builder-deployed agent tested through Launch/Test in Console should be fully compatible with Agent Insights.

My setup:

  • Agent Builder
  • LiveKit Cloud
  • Agent Observability enabled in Project Settings
  • Agent redeployed after enabling observability
  • Testing performed using Test in Console (not Builder Preview)

Observed behavior:

  • :white_check_mark: Agent deploys
  • :white_check_mark: Agent joins
  • :white_check_mark: Voice conversation works
  • :white_check_mark: Session appears in Sessions
  • :white_check_mark: Session Analytics populate
  • :white_check_mark: Session Events populate
  • :white_check_mark: Two participants (agent + client)

However, Agent Insights always displays:

“No observability data available. Agent recording is either disabled or data has not yet been uploaded.”

Session Events only contain room lifecycle events (room created, participant joined/left, room ended). No transcripts, traces, logs, or audio recordings appear.

I have reviewed the documentation and believe my configuration matches the documented requirements for Agent Builder.

Is there an additional configuration required, or could this indicate a project-specific issue or a bug?

Thank you.

Hi, the project associated with the LiveKit cloud account you are logging into this portal with, ID p_6brdnykwdqp does not have agent observability enabled in the project settings.

Doh. Thank you. I think the issue was caused by me selecting the correct option but not saving the change
