Hello, I am wondering if we would be able to perform audio gain/normalization before passing to BVCTelephony in the audio input room. We are seeing the BVCTelephony can be overly aggressive and we are occasionally cancelling out our quiet callers. We think that a gain on the audio would fix this. Are there any solutions that come to mind?
You can disable BVCTelephony in the agent, i.e. not specify it in your audio_input options.
Many SIP providers also offer noise suppression on their SIP trunks, you should ensure you only specify only a single noise cancellation in your audio path.
I presume you have seen it, but the docs at Enhanced noise cancellation | LiveKit Documentation also discussion LiveKit SIP trunk-specific noise cancellation.
