From my testing the docs Ask AI generally out performs the older Slack Ask AI bot. The docs one is always up to date with any recent changes.
I am not sure if there are any cases where the slack version would be better. They are totally different systems, backends, and datasets. Fun note is that the docs agent is actually a LiveKit agent where the slack bot is not.
