Welcome to the LiveKit community

Welcome to the LiveKit developer community.

This community is designed for technical discussions with fellow LiveKit developers. Please follow the community guidelines and check out the FAQ page for answers to common questions.

Categories

LiveKit is a very flexible platform. To ensure your question reaches the right audience, it is very important that it is categorized correctly:

The current list of categories will always be available here, and many developers coming from our Slack community will recognize these as previous Slack channels:

  • Getting Started - Any beginner questions about getting started with LiveKit, regardless of the type of app you are building.
  • Agents - Multimodal agent development, including Agent Builder and custom agent deployments.
  • Telephony - LiveKit Cloud SIP, including LiveKit phone numbers
  • Client SDKs - Any client SDK questions including agent front ends.
  • Server SDKs - Questions related to our server SDKs or WebRTC transport
  • Cloud Dashboard - Anything related to cloud.livekit.io
  • Egress / Ingress - Media Egress or Ingress
  • Robots - Robotic teleoperatoions and processing sensor data, including the ESP32 SDK
  • Self Hosting - ALL questions related to self-hosting LiveKit cloud. This does not include self-hosted agents.
  • [Private Groups] - You may be invited to join private groups to participate in closed betas or other closed discussions.

Tags

Tags are also available to help you narrow down what your question is about - many community members will only follow specific tags, or specific categories, so make sure you tag and categorize your post correctly. We do require at least one tag, so if the right tag doesn’t exist, just use ‘other’.

Docs Feedback

The docs-feedback tag can be used in any category. There aren’t separate tags for every model, but we may create new tags for the more popular models.

Getting Started

For questions about getting started, there’s now a dedicated category for that - feel free to ask anything about LiveKit there.
