I’m on the Build plan and run a voice assistant for incoming phone calls:
self-hosted agent workers connected to LiveKit Cloud, calls come in over a
third-party SIP trunk (Zadarma). Before I start sending more traffic, I’d
like to understand the limits exactly:
What happens when the 1,000 included third-party SIP minutes are used up
in a month? Are new calls rejected, or are extra minutes billed at the
listed $0.004/min? Build does not require a credit card, so I’m not sure
how overage could be charged.
How are SIP minutes counted for one call? In my Usage page, 14 minutes of
inbound calls show as 14 inbound + 14 outbound = 28 SIP minutes. Is each
call counted twice (caller leg + agent leg)?
My Usage page shows no “Agent session minutes” at all, because the agents
run on my own server. Can I confirm that the 1,000 agent session minutes
limit does not apply to self-hosted workers?
Can I add a payment method on Build to pay overage instead of being
blocked, or is upgrading to Ship the only way to avoid a hard stop?
Agents would no longer get dispatched to those calls. Since, as you say, we don’t have a credit card on file, we don’t automatically bill for overage.
It only counts the minutes between the SIP participant and the room, so a caller dialling into a room over a third-party SIP for 14 minutes and speaking with an agent will count as 14 SIP minutes.
Yes, that’s correct.
No, this is not possible I’m afraid, you would need to upgrade to ship.
